The Art of Deb Mell

This is a book collaboration I did with Chuck Miley.   I have always admired Chuck's Book Art, so when this opportunity presented itself to work with him, I jumped at the chance!

We each separately sketched a series of the individual stories and then came together on a selection to use for the story panels. Each panel represents one of the tales.

The panels themselves are comprised of the sketch, found objects and several layers of resin.  Each is framed with lead came.  They are then hinged together with wire. The panels will lay flat together at the hinges, and then open individually or completely to be viewed.
